Flying at Heathrow

With the huge rise in investment and building in and around the Heathrow area comes the requirement to produce high quality aerial photography.

Aerial images are used in the promotion and sale of new buildings, conversions and re-generation. The aerial image plays a key role in illustrating the layout and positioning of property to investors. Even more so with overseas investors, whose knowledge of the local infrastructure and positioning of property may not be as strong.

An aerial image not only shows the subject property, but also shows the local amenities and gives ‘scale’ to the local area. A prime example of this is to show property in relation to Heathrow Airport, the M4 and the M25! This would be an essential ingredient in the saleability of a given property and with the right photography can add value to the sales brochure which far out-weighs the cost of commissioning the flight.

Flying near Heathrow Airport is always challenging, but with careful planning, the right choice of airframe and the professionalism of the air traffic controllers at Heathrow, we can accomplish most tasks. An example would be a flight undertaken recently, which required detailed (GPS/CGI) imagery of four sites, almost under the flight lines into Heathrow, at Brentford and Datchet. We chose to fly a helicopter and managed to get to all four sites and complete the work. A special thanks to the ATC staff at Heathrow who make this impossible task – possible!

Ultra-high resolution imagery – GPS linked – CGI ready – Precise photographic angles – All taken under the continual heavy air traffic going into one of the world’s busiest airports- Supplied (processed) to the customer within 24 hours of the shoot!
